DAY 1: Arrive in Sydney.
You will arrive in Sydney early this morning and clear customs. After you have completed the immigration formalities a representative of Australia 2000 Travel will meet you and accompany you as you transfer via chauffeur driven car to your hotel in downtown Sydney. While traveling to your hotel our agent will deliver your additional Australia travel documents and answer any questions you might have relating to the adventure awaiting you. The remainder of the day is yours to discover Sydney at your leisure.
During your 4 nights stay in Sydney you will be accommodated at a luxurious suite hotel located at Circular Quay overlooking Sydney Harbour and within walking distance of Sydney Opera House, The Botanic Gardens and the historic Rocks Village. Your hotel room will be pre-booked to ensure immediate access on your early morning arrival.
DAY 2. Private Sydney Tour. L
Your specialist guide, Suzanne, will meet you at your hotel this morning for a delightful day discovering the Secrets of Sydney and its best sights. You will enjoy an exclusive inside look at this cosmopolitan city with its impressive Harbour foreshores, glamorous homes and coastlines dotted with jagged sandstone cliffs and golden beaches. Discover the beauty of the Australian bush in the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park overlooking the shimmering waters of Broken Bay with its ancient Aboriginal sites and engraved rock art, topped off with a relaxing gourmet luncheon on the waters edge. You will be privy to a rare glimpse of Sydney, far off the tourist tracks, with secrets even the locals do not know. Suzanne will be certain that you return to you hotel with plenty of time to prepare for any evening activity.
DAY 3: Sailing on Sydney Harbour. L
Today you will discover beautiful Sydney Harbour during a 5-hour cruise on board a 40 foot beneteau sailboat. You will see the beautiful homes lining its foreshore and explore some of the picturesque coves. Your skipper, Colin, always has fishing tackle fins, masks and snorkels aboard.
DAY 4: At leisure in Sydney. Attend a performance at Sydney Opera House.
You have the day at leisure to explore Sydney. The staff at Australia 2000 Travel has prepared an information package on spending leisure time in Sydney. You will find it in the City Highlights section of your final documents.
The famous Sydney Opera House is a matter of minutes walk from your hotel. This evening you will enjoy the spectacle as you attend a performance of opera, ballet, music or drama in one of the three halls of at the world renowned Sydney Opera House. Your package for this evenings performance will include a tour of Sydney Opera House, dinner at a leading restaurant overlooking Sydney Harbour and seats booked in the A Reserve Section for the performance of your choice.

Greet Sydney in unique style. The Sydney Harbour Bridge is classified as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World and is yours to climb to the very top with your specialist guide. Not only is the view breathtaking you will encounter one of Sydneys historic gems and an engineering wonder.
Discover the spectacular World Heritage listed Blue Mountains with your private wilderness guide. Your day begins as you drive out through Sydney’s south-western suburbs to Wirrimbirra Sanctuary where you will have the opportunity to view some native wildlife up close, including emus, dingos and a variety of birds including parrots, galahs, kookaburras and the uniquely Australian frogmouth owl.
Your tour continues on to one of Australia’s oldest and most charming country towns, Berrima, which retains most of its early 19th century convict and colonial architecture including the old jail and courthouse. From Berrima, you will set off for a bush walk in search of koalas and lyrebirds amidst the eucalypt trees before stopping off at Joadja Vineyard, a small boutique family operated winery where you will sample a variety of the region’s cool climate wines. From Joadja your guide will head west into some of Australia’s most spectacular wilderness scenery. Your drive takes you into the Nattai National Park you will witness spectacular views over the Blue Mountains National Park and a chance to take in the breadth and beauty of this wilderness on Sydney’s doorstep.
This afternoon you will enjoy an Aussie BBQ lunch and a bottle of wine in quiet seclusion on a private property on the banks of the Wollondilly River where you will have the opportunity to spot one of Australia’s more elusive mammals, the platypus. After lunch enjoy a short bush walk where you have the chance to see a variety of Australian animals including a goanna, grey kangaroo, wallaby and echidna before wrapping up your day with a drink and then returning to Sydney late this afternoon.
Day 5: Fly to Kangaroo Island. D
You will be transferred to Sydney Airport in time to board your afternoon flight to Adelaide.
When you arrive at Adelaide Airport you will be transferred to the Adelaide Aviation Terminal where you will store your excess luggage and fly to Kangaroo Island, one of the worlds few remaining unspoiled natural wonders. When you arrive on KI you will be transferred to your accommodation, an historic homestead set on a working farm, producing prime lamb, wool and grain. Hosts Lyn and Graham live in the refurbished homestead, built by the family from limestone gathered from the property in the 1920s. After dinner, along with your fellow guests, your hosts will escort you on a night spotting tour to search for a variety of Australian nocturnal wildlife.
DAY 6: Full day touring on Kangaroo Island. B L D
This morning your specialist guide from Kangaroo Island Wilderness Wildlife will meet you at your accommodation to lead you on an exploration of the island. You will travel to Seal Bay Conservation Park to walk among the bulls, cows and pups of the Australian sea-lion colony and to learn how the sea lions survive the rigors of the Southern Ocean. You will witness the spectacular and vast sand dunes at Little Sahara before traveling from the South Coast to the middle of the island via Parndana Wildlife Park en route to Cygnet River Valley where you will find the koala in its own natural habitat. There a home-baked lunch, accompanied by good South Australian beers and wines, tea and coffee will be served. After lunch, the North Coast beaches, Snellings and Stokes, provide a perfect environment for taking a leisurely stroll to enjoy the sound of waves breaking on the pristine, sandy coast. There will be chances to take unique nature walks in search of kangaroos, wallabies, the rare glossy black cockatoo and the elusive echidna before returning to your B&B accommodation.
DAY 7: Full Day Tour in The Australian Outback. B L
Following breakfast you will transfer to Kangaroo Island Airport in time to board your return flight to Adelaide. When you arrive in Adelaide you will connect with your onward flight to a timeless land that reveals the geological secrets of the last two billion years on Earth. You will experience the vastness, the rugged harshness of the Australian Outback and see razorback quartzite ridges, slashed by precipitous gorges; creeks with cool deep waterholes framed by centuries old, stately Australian gums. You will land at Hawker where your personal guide will meet you to continue your sensational day via 4X4 vehicle. You will travel through Wilpena Pound, natural Outback amphitheater to the remote town of Parachilna, population 7. Lunch will be served at Parachilnas one and only hotel, The Prairie Hotel, where you will find the remoteness adds to the pleasure and great charm of the restaurant renowned for its delicious, innovative menu of Australian native and Flinders Feral Foods. Your tour will conclude late this afternoon as you return to Adelaide and transfer to your hotel. During your 3 nights stay in Adelaide you will be accommodated at an award winning suite in the heart of cosmopolitan North Adelaide’s cafe and restaurant precinct. It is ideal for romantic short stays, and is a favorite with international guests. Originally a fire station it has been renovated to meticulous historical standards. It features a king size spa bath, kitchen and dining facilities and is furnished with many antiques and memorabilia including a full size fire truck! DAY 8: City Orientation Tour. B
Your morning is at leisure to relax before our private guide will meet you at your accommodation to escort you on an orientation tour of the charming city of Adelaide, one of the best-planned cities in the world, proud of its relaxed lifestyle, colonial heritage and reputation as the arts capital of Australia. During your tour you will visit the citys heart with its distinctive squares, terraces, parks and gardens. You will see the diverse residential architecture of North Adelaide with its bluestone mansions and row cottages; tour North Terrace with its galleries, museums and hidden courtyards; visit the Jam Factory, South Australias Centre of fine crafts and experience Tandanya, Australias National Aboriginal Cultural Institute.
DAY 9: Full day tour of Adelaide Hills. B L
Your personal guide will meet you at your accommodation this morning to escort you on a full day tour of the Adelaide Hills. Only 30 minutes from the center of Adelaide, the Mount Lofty Ranges offer visitors a delightful collection of spots with a distinctly South Australian character. During your day you will discover the quaint galleries and craft shops of Hahndorf; enjoy lunch at either an historic grain mill that has been restored as a restaurant or at an elegant house overlooking the picturesque Piccadilly Valley. A relaxing afternoon allows a stroll through Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens and Villages or a visit to the Cleland Wildlife Park, where Australian animals roam free in natural surroundings.
DAY 10: Fly to Cairns. Transfer to your Rainforest Resort. B
You will be transferred to Adelaide Airport in time to board your onward flight to Cairns. When you arrive in Cairns Airport you will be transferred to your accommodation via 4X4 vehicle. The adventure you will have in reaching your accommodation will bring a smile to your face for years. During your 4 nights stay in the rainforest you will be accommodated in a tree house chalet set on the edge of a World Heritage wilderness, the Daintree National Park, home to the oldest living rainforest in the world.
DAY 11: Cruise the Great Barrier Reef. B L
Today you will discover The Great Barrier Reef aboard your luxury chartered catamaran departing from Port Douglas. During the day you will enjoy snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef with a maximum of 12 guests. The Great Barrier Reef’s ecosystem supports the greatest concentration of life on this planet with its resident marine life including 1,500 species of fish, 350 different kinds of coral, 4000 species of molluscs and 10,000 species of sponges. It also provides breeding areas for humpback whales, sea turtles dugong and seabirds. Hundreds of species of algae, including seaweeds, also live on the reef as a vital part of the reef system. In addition to exploring the reef there will be time to relax whilst enjoying a gourmet seafood lunch. You will return to the Port Douglas Marina by 4:30pm.
DAY 12: At leisure in your Rainforest Resort. B
You have the day at leisure to enjoy the beauty of your surroundings. You might like to relax by the pool; take an invigorating swim in the Healing Waters; play a game of tennis; canoe; snorkel; walk in the nearby Mossman Gorge National Park on one of the regions finest rainforest walks; take time out in a hammock or follow the electric blue of a Ulysses Butterfly.
DAY 13: Full day rainforest & Daintree River Tour. B L
Early this morning one of our specialist guides will meet you at your accommodation. You will journey up the scenic Marlin Coast to the Daintree National Park and Cape Tribulation where a variety of different environments including estuary, mangroves, rainforest and beach will be visited throughout the day You will enjoy a river cruise on the Daintree River and a guided walk through ancient rainforest in the Cape Tribulation National Park. After a hearty barbecue lunch at a private site on the edge of Myall Creek, you’ll stroll along deserted Myall Beach that offers spectacular views of the Cape Tribulation headland and Great Dividing Range. A scenic journey south allows you to relax and appreciate the beauty of this area; your day ends with high tea at your accommodation.
DAY 14: Fly to Sydney. B
You have the morning at leisure to relax and enjoy the beauty of your rainforest environment. Early this afternoon you will take a leisurely transfer to Cairns via chauffeur driven car. Your journey will take you south along the scenic Coral Coast to the Cairns Airport where you will board your onward flight to Sydney. When you arrive in Sydney you will be transferred to your luxury suite hotel. Celebrate the end to your Aussie adventure this evening when you board a water taxi to transfer across Sydney Harbor to one of our favorite seafood restaurants. (Dinner will be at additional expense)
DAY 15: Depart Australia.
Say farewell to Australia today. You will be transferred to Sydney Airport in time to board your onward flight. You will return to your home having experienced the kind hospitality of the Aussies, stayed in an eclectic mix of our lodges and hotels, visited our cultural, historic and natural icons, explored the usual and the unusual from extreme perspectives, seen the sights, found time to share a yarn with the locals and perhaps somewhere along the way, having made a new mate.
