While the whole flying process in and of itself can cause anxiety for even an experienced flyer we find that our travel tips go a long way in helping our clients relax and prepare?to enjoy the?journey that awaits them.
- Pack as lightly as possible by coordinating mix & match wrinkle free, easy care separates and a light rainproof jacket or coat that you can layer to accommodate different climates and altitudes.
- Be sure to pack a ?Survival Kit? for flying to include earplugs, eyeshades, inflatable neck cushion, toothbrush & toothpaste, moisturizers, medication, deodorant, touch up make up, hair brush, chewing gum or hard candy for pressure changes while flying, spare shirt & undergarments.? Contact lenses are not recommended as they can become dry and uncomfortable after a long flight.
- Comfort for the flight ~ layer clothing for various cabin temperatures, wear comfortable lace up shoes and loosen the laces but do not take them off as your feet may swell during the flight and you may not be able to put them back on, maintain hydration by drinking lots of water and avoid excessive amounts of coffee, tea and alcohol, take along an IPOD of music player with your favorite music, most importantly live in the moment while flying, sit back, relax and look forward to the exciting adventure awaiting you!
- Important tips for your health and wellbeing in-flight ~ the normal body mechanism for returning fluid to the heart can be inhibited and gravity can cause the fluid to collect in your feet, resulting in swelling after a long flight.? Some studies have concluded that prolonged immobility may be a risk factor to the formation of blood clots in the legs such as Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).? Compression stockings assist in preventing swelling of the ankles and feet and improve the blood return to the body from the lower legs.? While in flight, move your legs and feet for three to four minutes per hour while seated and move about the cabin occasionally.? Be sure to do the exercises that are recommended by your flight crew.
